a lesson from baby Zumi

When Zumi was about 4 weeks old, he went outside for the very first time.

It was SCARY!

So he took a nap. And when he woke up, it wasn't scary anymore.

When we find ourselves spiraling in fear, doubt, frustration, anger or bitterness, our best bet is to stop that momentum.

Here are some ways to do that

  • follow baby Zumi's lead and take a nap

  • meditate

  • bring your attention to your breath

  • move your body

  • notice and name all the colors around you

  • count

Napping and meditating both stop your thoughts, therefore stopping your negative momentum.

Bringing your attention to your breath or moving your body will pull your attention away from your troublesome mind and into your body, where your wisdom lives.

Noticing and naming colors and counting give your brain something to do so you can stop spiraling and relax into your body.

Once you stop spiraling in a negative direction, you create space to start spiraling in a positive direction, allowing things to get better and better and better.

I love you.

Love,
Kelsey
