non-specific manifestors: it's energetically incorrect for us to be specific
There's an episode of "Queer Eye" where Jonathan (the grooming expert) says to the client: "Don't wash your hair everyday. That would be like washing your t-shirt everyday. It will break it down."
"Huh," I said to Pete. "That makes sense."
So I did an experiment. I stopped washing my hair everyday.
Here's what I learned: My hair is not a t-shirt. When I skip washing my hair, it gets slippery enough that elastics fall out and it ties itself into a massive knot. Managing my hair is much easier for me if I wash it everyday. Thanks for the tip, Jonathan. It's not the best choice for me right now. I know my hair better than any expert, even Jonathan.
Learning what works and what doesn't is pretty easy when it comes to things we can physically touch. But how do we figure out what works and what doesn't when it comes to energetic stuff?
A few years ago, I was working with a business coach. She kept telling me that I had to be specific about who my ideal client was and exactly how much money I wanted to make. I kept resisting because those things did not feel good to me.
Exasperated, she said to me at one point: "Kelsey, you have to be specific."
I'd run out of logical reasons why I didn't want to be specific so I relented. Even though it felt like I was pushing a boulder uphill, I got super specific.
And then. It felt like the universe slammed on the brakes. I couldn't find my flow. I felt disconnected from everything. I felt like I was trudging through mud in everything I did in my business.
A few months later, I discovered Human Design and learned that I'm a non-specific manifestor. It's energetically incorrect for me to be specific. "I knew it!" I thought. I felt so validated.
Well-meaning experts will tell us all sorts of things: That we have to be specific; that we need a strategy; that we need to be consistent (or that we need to vary our routine); that we need to create barbed wire boundaries for ourselves; that we will think better when we listen to music; that we're supposed to be motivated all day every day; that we need more calories (or that we need fewer calories); and so on...
How do we know what really works for us?
Each one of us is an expert on ourselves. We know ourselves better than anyone else--except our souls. Our souls picked all of this out for us right from the start. It's all in our Human Design chart.
Each one of us is designed to flow through life with ease. We're each here to own and share our unique gifts. We are each here to change the world in our own unique way.
So, book your Human Design Reading right now.
I love you.
Love,
Kelsey
P.S. Things that are bringing me so much joy right now: seeing the magic people's souls chose for them and getting to share that magic with the real live human that embodies that chart, coaching Light Leaders, a surprise bag of celery from a friend's garden, and chocolate quinoa.
