Karen Kenney: “You must be curious.”

Karen Kenney is a writer, speaker and the founder of Fearless Flow Mentoring. She’s been a student and guide of A Course in Miracles for 23+ years and a certified yoga teacher since 2001. Karen is known for her storytelling, her sense of humor and her “down-to-earth” approach to spirituality. She helps people let go of their old stories of suffering and victimization so they can write a new kick-ass story from that inner place of power, forgiveness and Spirit. She leads transformational retreats at the renowned Omega Institute in NY and locally in the New England area. Her primary teacher, “spiritual mom” and mentor is acclaimed author and lecturer, Marianne Williamson. Karen’s currently at work on her memoir Wicked Hard and her podcast, of the same name, is also in development.

This conversation is epic. Karen, with her Boston accent and potty mouth, drops wisdom bomb after wisdom bomb, including gems like, “When you accept that your identity is just love and your purpose is just to extend that love, shit gets clear really fast.”

Hold onto your hats and have a notebook handy. This conversation might blow you away.

I met Karen through our mutual friend Amber Lilyestrom. You’ll hear us mention Amber a few times in this episode. To learn more about Karen’s background, check out the episode she and Amber recorded on The Amber Lilyestrom show.

Nuggets:

“You should be telling your stories ‘cause if you don’t tell your stories, your stories will tell you and then you will start to act from that place.”

“We just assign value to really weird shit.”

“I don’t want my circumstances to dictate how I feel.”

“You’re either running towards God or you’re running away from God.”

“If it’s just you with you out there, you should be very suspicious of the thoughts you’re having.”

“As adults, we know how much we’ve been shamed or made fun of. We have so many more walls. And so you have to be willing to be goofy and to make mistakes and to screw up and to be curious and to explore.”

“As soon as you believe that you are separate from your source, of course you become afraid.”

“You already are home. You already are whole. No matter where you go, you do belong.”

“Your power is not coming just from you. It comes through you from a higher source, which, to me, is just love.”

“When you accept that your identity is just love and your purpose is just to extend that love, shit gets clear really fast.”

In this episode, you’ll learn:
