Finding More Ease
We got a new food processor.
(Stay with me.)
In order to use our old food processor, we had to hold the lid in place while the motor was running. It sounded like a shrieking eel when it was grinding up nuts and beans and whatever else we put in there. And there was one gnarly little piece that we could not figure out how to clean.
We tolerated this machine for years. Thirteen years to be exact. Thirteen years of holding down the lid and wanting to cover our ears while we made delicious food.
We've had the new food processor for a month. It's so quiet that it sounds like humming and we can walk away from it as it's working. Oh my goodness, the ease we're feeling around this new gadget is incredible. This ease was probably available to us ten years ago. But we worked with what we had, we tolerated something that was unpleasant, we sucked it up, buttercup.
I'm not talking about avoiding uncomfortable stuff. Feel your feelings. Practice being comfortable with being uncomfortable as you push your body to new levels.
BUT stop putting up with the stuff that feels hard. Look around. What are you tolerating? Maybe it's clutter, an itchy sweater, flowers that make you sneeze, cold weather, or a squeaky door. Maybe it's a job that doesn't light you up, a relationship that doesn't support you, food that doesn't nourish your body, or feeling like you have to do everything. Maybe it's loneliness, anxiety or stress. Maybe it's the feeling of pushing a boulder uphill.
Psst... it can be ease-y. When we understand, own and celebrate our Human Design at every level of our lives, we welcome in more ease. And with more ease comes more joy, flow, connection, magic and miracles.
PS) Talking about food processors makes me think of one of my favorite recipes. Here you go:
Brownie Batter Hummus
15oz can of black beans (drained and rinsed)
1/3 cup cacao powder
heaping 1/4 cup of almond butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
maple syrup to taste (I'm guessing you want about 3 tbsp.)
water
Add the black beans, cacao powder, almond butter, vanilla extract and maple syrup to a food processor and whir until smooth. Add water, a tbsp at a time, until it's a hummus-like texture.
Serve with all the fruit. We love to dip strawberries and pineapple chunks in it.
