my current favs

August is officially HERE! And I thought I'd give all my Generator and MG friends some things to respond to. Projectors, I invite you to enjoy these books, films, songs and mindset practices as you feel called. Reflectors, take your time. If these things are for you, you'll know in perfect timing. And Manifestors, you do you.

Here are my current faves:

My favorite mindset practice:

Every morning, when I first wake up, I take a full minute to be intentional with my thoughts. I think about how comfortable my bed is or how wonderful it feels to snuggle with the dogs and I let the thoughts build and build until my whole body is smiling. And then, and only then, do I put my feet on the floor.

What I'm reading:

Running with Sherman by Christopher McDougall. This sweet story by the author of Born to Run and Born to Run 2 (highly recommend both of those) is about a rescued donkey who needs a job. That job turns out to be training for and running Burro races. If you love animals, you will love this book. I loved it so so much! And someday I will have a donkey and some goats.

Woman on Fire by Lisa Barr. Here's a fun fiction book to lose yourself in. It's filled with suspense, art history, and romance. I devoured it in a few days.

Under the Lights and in the Dark: Untold Stories of Women's Soccer by Gwendolyn Oxenham. This book was recommended to me by someone who said she's not an athlete and never has been an athlete. It's about strong women and I loved it a lot. As a 4/6, I LOVE stories about people and this book delivered!

I also had a cool manifestation moment while reading it. I read a passage about a beautiful play by Brazilian soccer star Marta and wondered if I could find the clip on YouTube. I finished reading, started making dinner and decided to turn on the tv, and noticed that we seemed to have access to the FIFA channel. I tuned into FIFA and they were playing a documentary about women's soccer. A few minutes in (just five minutes after putting the book down) I got to see Marta make a beautiful play.

What I'm watching:

Tour De France: Unchained. Netflix has been producing these sports documentaries that I love. There's Break Point about professional tennis (loved it) and Full Swing about golf (also loved it and I am not a fan of golf). This one is about the Tour and it is intense! If you have calm touch digestion, don't watch it while you eat. There's so much more to this event than bikes—strategy and culture. If you like bike racing, you've probably already seen it, but if you're a high achiever wanting to be inspired by other high achievers watch this and the next one.

Quarterback on Netflix. This is another Netflix sports documentary. If you're curious about how high achievers do the damn thing, watch this. If you wonder how they keep getting better, watch this. We loved it.

What I'm listening to:

Give a Little Love by Queen Jasira and Step Into My Power by Modern Headspace. Thank you to DJ Hanna for both of these recommendations.

There it is! That's what is lighting my eyes, ears and mind up these days. What is lighting you up lately?

I love you.

Love,
Kelsey

P.S. Another one of my favorite things is helping people remember who they are! I'm offering a limited number of Full Human Design Readings this summer. If you want one of these 90-minute deep dives with me, book your session here.
