picking up other people's beliefs is sticky business
One of my favorite toys as a kid was a velcro "dartboard." The "darts" were small balls covered with strips of velcro and the "dartboard" was a soft piece of circular fabric with a bullseye in the center. The goal was to throw the balls at the board and have them stick.
They usually did. You didn't have to throw the balls hard. It seemed that if you simply tossed the balls near the board, they would jump onto the board and hold on.
This game, with it's super-sticky velcro and wide open target reminds me of the relationship between other people's beliefs and an undefined ajna.
[If the upside-down triangle that's second from the top of your Human Design chart is white, you have an undefined ajna. Fifty-percent of us do, including me. People with undefined ajnas feel and amplify other people's thoughts and beliefs. If you don't have your Human Design chart, you can get it for free here.]
Picking up other people's beliefs is sticky business. We often don't realize it's happened. These beliefs burrow into our minds and hide out. We hold on to them. We act from them. And, if we're lucky, they fall out of our face holes when we least expect it. Hours later, we find ourselves reflecting on that statement and wondering, "why the hell did I say that?" And then, after ruminating, questioning and possibly beating ourselves up, we realize, "ohhhhh, that isn't my belief." And then we simply bless and release, asking it to return to its home with compassion.
That's the easy way to discover other people's beliefs hiding out in our ajnas. Most of the beliefs we pick up from other people are hiding out in stealth mode, deep in our subconscious. They become ratty old post-it notes in the back of our mind. We're unaware of them, but they still impact our energy and sometimes our actions.
These beliefs can include pervasive little gnats like:
If you don't struggle to earn it, it's not valuable.
Money doesn't grow on trees.
It's not spiritual to receive lots of money for your work.
It's not nice to talk about yourself.
People like us don't have a lot of money.
Ugh. What could be possible if these beliefs (and similar ones) weren't buzzing around in your conscious or subconscious minds?
We're going to find out inThe Money Class! I am so excited for this adventure. I've never had any desire to lead people on a money adventure. I felt like money wore a business suit and worked in a fancy office. I felt like money was stern and serious. And then I learned that money is playful and fun, and that money, like me, loves to flow. I learned that money is joy and light--and that opening up to the playfulness and possibility of abundance with money opens us up to playfulness and possibility in all aspects of our lives.
The Money Classstarts March 29. We'll play with coaching, Human Design and two books: "It's Not Your Money" by Tosha Silver and "Love Money Money Loves You" by Sarah McCrum and meet for eight Tuesdays in a row from 7-8pm Eastern (4-5pm Pacific).Join us!
I love you.
Love,
Kelsey
