we are being called back into our bodies and invited to let inspiration find us
Pluto moved.
Since early fall, it's been sitting in the gate of inspired thinking, giving us all the gift of pondering the mysteries of life. It moved yesterday, freeing us from months of thinking and returning those of us with undefined crown centers (70% of the population) to our natural state. For months, we've been thinking our way to inspiration. And now, suddenly, it's not working.
We are being called back into our bodies and invited to let inspiration find us. So, do your thing. Get out in nature, move your body, read a book, listen to a podcast, watch a movie, engage with other beings. Live your wellness. Inspiration comes from outside yourself. It will land in your body at the perfect time and in the perfect way. Your job is to relax into your true essence, be open to delightful surprises and trust like a mofo.
You may even get some inspiration from learning about what other people have been up to (especially if you have a 4 line in your profile). So, here's a little snapshot of what I've been up to lately:
MOVING: I've been biking, running, walking, and strength training. My shoulder is healing and I've been out of the water for 5 weeks so far as it heals. I've been having so much fun biking and running and I'm loving the unplanned boost in bike fitness. If I think about racing in March or April, I feel pressure, fear and frustration. BUT when I relax back into alignment and allow my body to lead, I know I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be. It's funny to me that my mind thinks there's a convenient time to heal and an inconvenient time to heal, and that it thinks it has any say in anything. My body is guiding me. My body decided that now is the perfect time to heal my shoulder and the perfect time for ALL the biking. My body is happy. My soul is filled with joy. I am exactly where I'm supposed to be--and when it's time to get back in the water, my body (not someone or something outside me--and certainly not my mind) will tell me it's time.
LISTENING: I loved these three podcasts:
For the burned out, fried and exhausted Emily & Amelia Nagoski on Ten Percent Happier
Johann Hari on How to Reclaim Your Attention on Feel Better, Live More
The Awakened Brain: Lisa Miller, PhD on The Neuroscience of Spirituality on The Rich Roll Podcast
READING: I recently read and loved The Hummingbirds' Gift by Sy Montgomery, Britt-Marie Was Here by Frederik Backman and The Little Old Lady Who Broke All The Rules by Catharina Ingelman-Sundberg. And I'm currently reading Atlas of the Heart by Brene Brown, Burnout by Emily and Amelia Nagoski and The Storied Life of AJ Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin.
HABIT-CHANGING: I'm not much of a goal-setter, but I'm a big fan of little habit changes. I've got two new habit projects in the works. 1) I want to be the type of person who is ambidextrous. I am fairly ambidextrous naturally, but when I'm not super conscious of it I can default into doing a lot of things with my dominant hand. I'm currently committed to brushing my teeth with my non-dominant hand and (when I remember) eating my salad with my non-dominant hand. 2) I want to be the best steward of this human body that I can possibly be and, right now, part of that means spending more time barefoot. I've been on team no-foot-prisons for life and have run in minimalist shoes for almost a decade, but I recently realized that I've been doing about 5 miles of walking every day in sandals that have arch support. I've changed up the shoes and am currently building up my barefoot time.
EATING: I'm currently obsessed with vegan sausages and a cheesy broccoli hashbrown bake (both recipes are from Minimalist Baker) and these easy peanut butter balls: 1/2 cup natural peanut butter (or any nut or seed butter), 1/4 cup maple syrup, 1 cup almond flour. Stir to combine everything. Add more almond flour if it's too runny. Roll into balls and refrigerate. So yummy!
WATCHING: The new season of Queer Eye!
Okey dokey. That's it. I love you.
Love,
Kelsey
