Maybe You're NOT Supposed to Be Motivated ALL the Time

In Human Design, there’s a small triangle on the right side of each chart that goes by a few different names: Ego Center, Heart Center or Will Center.

If this triangle is red in your chart, your soul chose for you to have strong consistent motivation. If this triangle is white, however, you soul chose for your motivation to come in waves.

Society expects us all to have strong consistent motivation, but only 30% of us do. Most people (70% of the humans on this planet) have motivation that comes in waves. Sometimes they feel super motivated and sometimes they feel super UNmotivated. They are always somewhere along their motivational wave.

There’s another piece to this puzzle, though: If your Ego center is white but you’re around someone with a red Ego center, you’ll likely feed off their consistent motivation. Once you are alone again, you go back to your own wave.

As we are all spending more time alone these days, you may be feeling your motivational trough for the first time in a long while. Your instinct might be to DO something to get yourself motivated (because our human response is often to “fix” something that we deem “broken”). You could do that. Or...

You could relish the opportunity to experience what your soul chose for you. You could feel and honor every inch of your motivational wave. You could find the gifts in every segment of your wave (because there are gifts in every segment of the wave).

Your soul selected your design for a reason. You are designed to be exactly who you’re supposed to be and do what you’re supposed to do. You don’t need fixing. You are whole. You are perfect. And you are supported.
