Remember that story I told you about how I tried to micromanage the universe? (I can hear you saying, "which one, Kelsey?" 🤣)

I'm referring to the one about how I tried to buy myself a new hydration pack for running even though the universe made it abundantly clear that I was not going the way I was supposed to go. If you missed that story, you can catch up Here.

Okay. Now that you're caught up, here's the update:

Meet Zumi! His name means "dancing with happiness" and it's perfect. He's perfect. We are madly in love, consistently amused and a wee bit tired. Eventually, I'll share everything he's taught me about receiving and seeing the world through puppy eyes, but for now here are some puppy pictures.

Before you were born, your soul chose how you would change the world and then picked out all the tools you would need to do it. I recently decided that I would invest in a new hydration vest--something that would comfortably carry my bottle while keeping my hands free and my waist free from a bouncing belt. I made this decision with my head, not my body--and this was the first sign that I might be buying a ticket to the strugglebus.

One of my favorite toys as a kid was a velcro "dartboard." The "darts" were small balls covered with strips of velcro and the "dartboard" was a soft piece of circular fabric with a bullseye in the center. The goal was to throw the balls at the board and have them stick.

I started working with a new triathlon coach about a month ago.

One of the first things he said to me is, "You spend too much time in the gray zone. It'll make you tired, but it won't make you faster."
